Leslie Pearl was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in the Bay Ridge area. She began college at Syracuse University, but switched to Brooklyn College when she married her husband, Martin. After getting her bachelor's degree she taught in an elementary school for almost four years before becoming a stay-at-home mother.
Leslie was a sports fanatic. Tennis was her number one activity and she rarely missed a day on the courts. She also enjoyed ice skating, golf, swimming, boating, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, pickleball, and bocce ball. Her other passion was travel. She and her husband have been to almost every Carribean country and most countries in Western and Eastern Europe. They have traveled all over Africa, India, East Asia, North America, Central America and South America. She enjoyed visiting exotic places such as Burma, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Patagonia.
Leslie and her husband, Martin, have two children, Andrea and Douglas. They have four grandchildren, Kristyn, Alexander, Chloe and Scott.
She was an avid pet lover and always had dogs that she adopted from a shelter. She also volunteered to walk dogs at a shelter in Cutchogue, New York. At one time in her Brooklyn home she had three dogs, four cats, parakeets, hamsters, and a toad.
Leslie became a part time North Naples resident in 1998, living in Sterling Oaks half of the year and in Cutchogue, NY the rest of the year. She became a permanent Naples resident in 2019. Leslie moved into Arbor Glen in January, and passed away at Avow Hospice House in Naples. She is survived by her daughter Andrea and husband Greg Stetson, son Douglas and wife Sheryl Pearl, and her four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
