Originally from Natick, MA, Linda and much of her family have made Naples their home for over 30 years.
Linda deeply loved her family. She leaves her father, Donald Mahoney, Sr, and her siblings, Edward, his wife Deborah, and their children and grandchildren, Donald Jr. and his wife, Kirsten, Thomas and his children, Cathy Mahoney Thistle, her children and grandchildren, and Patrick and his wife Donna.
Linda's "kids", and indeed, all those she nurtured and "mothered," were in her own words "her greatest legacy."
Intimately connected by blood and love, her sons Justin and Thomas Dougall, and her daughter Sarah Dougall will continue to cherish, foster, and attempt to perpetuate Linda's unique way of supporting those in need of a listening ear, a kind word, or a cup of coffee, and incorporate friends as family.
Linda was a nurturer of many things. She was a "mother" to many, especially her foster children and the many young people who frequented her home. She created family by connecting people.
A passionate gardener and herbalist Linda focused on cultivating sustainable medicinal plants and unique varieties of all kinds of trees. She held a special place in her heart for all the animals in her home.
