Mary Lynn Peters Kraft

Mary Lynn Peters Kraft born in Detroit on Jan. 2, 1943 to Thomas Lynn and Mary Margaret Peters, died on Nov. 9, 2019 in Naples, Florida. . She is survived by her sister Nancy Ann Peters residing in Harrison Twp. Michigan, many devoted cousins, and close friend and companion Ray Robinson.

After graduation from Dominican High School in Detroit, Mary Lynn completed her undergraduate and graduate work at Wayne State University. Mary Lynn entered the field of public education in 1964 as a classroom teacher and eventually as an Administrator. She spent almost all of her career at Waterford Mott High School in Waterford , Michigan. As a dedicated teacher, who always walked the extra mile in the interests of her students, she is still remembered as one of those teachers that made a profound difference in the lives of many students.

One of her most favorite places in life, “Her Happy Place,” was Greenbush, Michigan She purchased a cottage in 1972 and spent every summer there becoming a fixture on Lake Street.

Following her retirement in 1999, she relocated to Florida, residing in the Island Walk Community in Naples. She became as devoted to her new community of friends as she was to her students, and her participation in a variety of groups and activities became a witness to her character.

No matter where she went, whom she met, the memories of Mary Lynn will endure.

A Celebration of Mary Lynn's Life will take place on Jan. 5, 2020 at the Town Center in Island Walk from 2 to 4. The Island Walk Community is located on Vanderbilt Rd., Naples.
