Meda Juanita "Granny" Phillips Frederick

Meda Juanita “Granny” Frederick, 93, passed away in her Naples home Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Born February 28, 1918 in Creston, IA, Meda lived and worked in West Des Moines, IA for 14 years. She later moved to Naples in 1971 where she worked with Ron and Leona at the Hospitality House Cafeteria. In her later years (until 89 years old!), she could be found at Eckerds and CVS Pharmacy serving her many friends. Meda was a member of The Rebecca’s, FCMA life member (20+ years) and a life member of the VFW Post #7721. Granny is survived by her 2 beloved daughters Leona (Ron) Jordan of Milwaukee, WI and Kay (Simmer) Nelson of Naples, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband Cleve (1967) and son Francis Daniel of Kent, WA. Granny is also survived by her 10 loving grandchildren Patrick Jordan of NY, Ellen Kile of Grafton, WI, Bradley Jordan of Two Rivers, WI, Jeffrey (Susan) Jordan of Naples, FL, Jennifer (Jason) Bloom of Glenwood, IA, Wesley Simmer of Naples, FL, Shawn (Harold) Robair of Naples, FL, Gary (Linda) Jacobson of Kent, WA, Kevin (Karlene) Jacobson of AK and Daniel Francis Frederick of WA; 13 cherished great grandchildren Matthew (Brittany)Kile of WI, Meghan Kile of Milwaukee, WI, Samantha Jordan of Manitawoc, WI, Ryan and Sydney Jordan of Naples, FL, Adam and Michael Robair of Naples, FL, Jordan, Ashley and Taylor Bloom of Glenwood, IA, Sara and Zachary Jacobson of AK and Nikki Jacobson of WA. A visitation will be held between 10 – 12pm with service to follow on Saturday, June 18th at the Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave. N., Naples, FL 34108. Interment will be held at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines, IA under the direction of McLarens Resthaven Chapel and Mortuary, 801 19th St., Des Moines, IA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer research.
