Our loving mother left this world on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Mrs. Braverman was born on October 26, 1939 in Newton, MA. She moved to Coral Gables, FL in 1972 with her family. After subsequent moves to Miami and Boca Raton, she settled in Naples, FL in July of 2002 where she spent her remaining years in peace and happiness.
Mrs. Braverman was a life member of Friends for Life, Brandeis Women’s Committee, Beth Israel Hospital of Brookline, MA, National Council of Jewish Women, and was a charter member of the US Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. She was also a patron of Temple Beth Am in Miami, Temple Shalom in Naples, the Jewish National Fund where she had orchards planted in Israel to commemorate happy times with her family, and to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami.
In her spare time, Mrs. Braverman volunteered at Baptist Hospital’s Surgical Recovery Room. She also volunteered at So. Miami Hospital’s Surgical Recovery Room. She gave herself to serve the volunteer program, serving as Secretary, Vice-President, President-elect, and President of the So. Miami Hospital’s auxiliary. As a result of her thorough training as a volunteer, she was hired by the Surgical Park Center in Miami as Patient Care Coordinator and Secretary in its Surgical Recovery Room, a position she held for nine years until she retired.
Mrs. Braverman enjoyed painting in oils, needlepoint, tournament bridge, and golf. She was an accomplished golfer, winning her club’s championship on two occasions. Her golfing abilities won her many chances to play in Pro-Am tournaments with such Pro partners as Nancy Lopez, Mike Donald, Nick Faldo, and Tom Watson. She also gave her time to benefit the American Cancer Society by volunteering, over a 20-year span, to keep the scores for the golf professionals at the Doral Golf Tournament.
She is survived by her loving and devoted sons and daughters-in-law: Steven B. Braverman (Veronica) of Scottsdale, AZ and David S. Braverman (Stacy) of Naples, FL.
