Peter Thomas Triola

Peter Thomas Triola, formerly a long-time resident of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully and went to the Lord at the age of ninety-one (91) on Monday, June 13th in Fernandina Beach, FL surrounded by his children.

He was born on April 2, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York to Lucy and Charles Triola. He was the second of three boys for Lucy and Charlie.

Peter joined the Navy in 1948 at the tender age of seventeen, after leaving high school early. After four years of service to his country he returned home to Brooklyn and fell in love with his wife of nearly sixty years, Barbara Ann. He went on to become one of New York’s finest becoming a NYPD police officer in 1959 and served the city of New York for over twenty years. He retired in 1980 and soon moved to Naples where he resided for the next forty plus years. He received his 100-ton license and began his next adventure as a boat captain, hanging up those ropes after another twenty plus years.

In his time in Naples, he belonged to and served the Naples Italian American Club, the American Legion and their 40&8 Club, the VFW, Royal Order of the Moose, AMVETS and the NYPD 10-13 Club of Collier County. He was a real American Patriot!

Peter’s long list of survivors include his three children, Donna and husband Scott Schneider, Anita Lonergan and Peter and wife Jeannie Triola along with his most treasured eleven grandchildren (Denise and husband Chris Lindauer, Donnalee and husband Matt Silletti, Kristi and husband Barrett Winans, Peter and wife Lindsay Triola, Tara Triola and Joey Orsino, Jason Rogers and Schyler Rice, Michelle Bozeman, Kristina and husband Joe Donahue, Joseph and wife Laurie Lonergan, Kelley Lonergan and Lou Coletti, Meaghan and husband Ed Ballard) and thirteen great-grandchildren (Josh and Matt Winans, Peter Triola III, CJ and Cole Triola, Viviana Orsino, Ryin and Addy Bozeman, Jameson Donahue, Noah Cox, Avery and Tanner Lonergan, and Kahleal Ballard), his sister-in-law Ginny and husband John Shea, his nephew and Godson Rick and wife Gina Triola, nephew Jim and wife Lisa Triola, niece Kathleen and husband Tom Rubino, niece Peg Burgess, niece Kelly and husband Scott Gallagher, nephew Michael and wife Sheri Shea and many more!

Peter was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Kearns Triola, parents Lucy and Charles Triola, brothers Charles and Frank Triola, niece Jackie Brown, niece Debbie Triola, niece Ann Marie Ackerman and beloved granddaughter Sherry Ann Triola.

Services will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens on Thursday June 30th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will take place on Friday July 1st at 11:00 AM, also at Naples Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 10-13 Club of Naples, FL and the American Legion 40&8 Club.
