In Loving Memory of Uncle Peter

Uncle Peter was not only a wonderful uncle and godfather, but truly one of the greats. Growing up, some of my best memories were spent with him, Uncle Drew, and my cousin Andrew. Whether we were just hanging out or heading off on wild camping trips, those times were always full of laughter, adventure, and unforgettable moments.

As I got older, Uncle Peter remained a steady and loving presence in my life and in our family. He had a gift for bringing people together, hosting incredible gatherings with food spreads that could rival any restaurant. His generosity, warmth, and sense of humor made every get-together something special.

We kept in touch regularly, especially bonding over Boston sports—though mostly when the teams were winning! Spending time with him and Noah was always a blast, filled with good conversation and good vibes.

Uncle Peter will be deeply missed. His spirit, kindness, and the joy he brought into our lives will never be forgotten.

Peter and I were colleagues back in our UPS days.  He was a true contrarian. A gentle soul and an ass-kicker wrapped up in one.. He spoiled me rotten as we had to eat at the best places. “Never order fish on Mondays!” He would say as he knew it wasn’t fresh.  Dinner was an event  with Peter. I was quite happy to hit the Panera bread drive thru and hit the rack early. Not Peter. We had  to go someplace great.  A celebration dinner at Sparks Steakhouse with Peter driving was an adventure to say the least. He always rang the bell too.  Out late and up early  on the treadmill at 5:30am.  A sad day indeed. The good Lord broke the mold when he made Peter  Walsh. R.I.P Peter.

For Peter, my brother who I loved and sometimes escaped with a while back. There was laughter and love throughout.  Our youth together was the treasure that lit my way.

Dear Walsh Family, 
I wish to express my profound condolences to the entire Walsh family, extended family, etc  on your loss of your beloved Pete.  He was truly a gem and a good friend.  I will miss him terribly--his boisterous voice and sense of humor and spontaneous laughter..

I  hope God gives you all the strength and comfort you need to carry you through your difficult grieving process.  He sure did love his family...

Uncle Peter was the most social person at any gathering. He was always asking people  questions and really taking in the answers. I’ll miss his delicious cooking skills, and sense of humor accompanied with his smile. 
My children were like magnets to their Great Uncle Peter. Whenever he was around, they would be right by his side. They will miss him tremendously.

I met Peter shortly after he started out what turned out to be his short stay in Las Vegas.
    We both started out in the greater Boston area so we had that in common and it turned out we both attended the same Prep School,
New Prep on Brattle street in Cambridge , although I did attend 8 years earlier. 
He quickly became one of my best friends and 
Was always one I could count on for help and support. 
He. Was smart, funny, with a big heart. I will really miss him.
We also shared a renewal of our faith and Peter became active in the church. He walked the walk.
He became an advocate of saying the rosary and even after he moved he would text me to make sure I I was still saying my rosary. He called it a “game changer “.
I once showed him rosary beeds I inherited from my mother and one was blessed by the pope. He said he had “goosebumps “
I could go on and on.
I feel blessed to have known Peter. He was a special person.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of uncle Peter. I will always fondly remember his strong support, love, and sense of humor.

He will be greatly missed, but his spirit lives on in all those he loved.

I loved Peter. He was one. I would call for advice on spiritual and financial matters. It was a great loss for me  so I can only imagine your loss.  It’s sad he died before his time. I was hoping to look him up in Naples

I’m so sorry, Noah.  I thought the world of your Dad.  We spent a lot of time together at Walsh’s Restaurant when we were younger and had a lot of conversations.  I always loved when he was around and always sad when he left this area.  I can not say enough good things about him.  He will always remain in my heart and in my head.

How to describe my brother Peter: Warm, loving, generous, funny, handsome, fastidious, magnanimous, passionate. He was a searcher and a striver - always working hard to get at the answer to what would bring him peace and contentment. Like all of us he wanted to be loved, unconditionally and needed constant reassurance that he was loved. I tried over the last several years to let him know that but it was his sacred journey with God that brought him that knowledge and deep, unabiding peace. What I loved most about my younger brother was how charged up he would get about Noah and his overall "awesomeness." Peter would tell me in Noah's younger years how amazingly brilliant and amazingly wise Noah was. His sheer enthusiasm about his son made me want to be a better mom to my boys. He cherished every fiber of that boy's being. He knew he was blessed because he had Noah. I saw Noah through Peter's eyes and so I too thought the world of Noah and do so even more now as I've seen Noah navigate with clarity and purpose this devastating loss. Noah personified everything Peter wanted in life. When Noah got a girlfriend Peter could not wait to embrace her because he always wanted to see his son happy. Peter, like me, could come on a little strong, maybe a little too enthusiastic, so maybe Noah was a bit reticent to share Jeannie with Peter but eventually they worked things out and Jeannie became a part of Peter's life. Noah's dog Rocky even got Peter's love and who knew that Peter even liked dogs! There is so much Peter and I would talk about in our marathon telephone conversations. I admired how he would pour himself into an idea, a project but it was his unconditional love for those who he loved and loved him that pulled me in. In our last conversation he wanted me to know that he had finally found peace, that fear and anger was replaced with love and forgiveness. Fly high my brother on angel's wings and tell God I said to take good care of you.

Peter was a great uncle and will be dearly missed.  He loved to cook and made some of the best meals that I've had.  I will never forget him cooking a mountain of food at my rehearsal dinner.

He was kind and engaging, always making people feel welcome and valued.  Just one of those people that tried to lift others up.  I am thankful for the fond memories and am blessed to have known him.  

Thank you Peter for all that you did and please know that the world was a better place for having had you in it.

Hoka hey brother Pete!  You are like Iron!

Peter was one of those rare souls who made you feel calmer just by being around him. He didn’t talk to impress—he spoke with purpose, listened deeply, and always seemed to know what really mattered. You could count on him, not just in big moments, but in the quiet, steady way he showed up for people. His love for Noah was everything—unshakable, selfless, and full of pride. He lived simply, gave generously, and never needed the spotlight to make an impact. Peter left this world the way he lived in it—with humility, heart, and grace. He’ll be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Peter represented the best of the Walsh family. He was funny and always a pleasure to be around. At the same time he was a wonderful father, a positive an supporting uncles to his nieces and nephews, and a true and loyal friend. Although you may not have agreed with his views on different things, there was no question he was always in your corner. You could count on Peter. He will be deeply missed but the fond memories of our time together will always be remembered
