During my time last year at Phoenix Alternative School, Officer Trujillo made a difference for me every day. Every morning I would walk in and he would say “Let me see that beautiful smile!”, and he was one of the few people who could make me laugh and genuinely cared. I just wanted to acknowledge Mr. Trujillo as a big part towards me graduating high school. Not only was he motivational, but he was patient and kind. He spoke very highly of me to my parents, and was one of the few people in my life who told me they were proud of me. I’m proud and thankful to have known him. My blessings & deepest condolences to his family, he left a special mark on everyone, especially myself. <3

Ray, my buddy, my friend and one of the best YRDs in Collier School System. You will be missed by all. May God grant comfort and peace to the family.

Ray and I are only 4 months apart. I’m grateful for the little amount of time we spent together. My favorite memories will always be when we were younger. We played football in the streets, built go carts, and entertained each other to make each other laugh. Ray helped me build some confidence as a young girl. 
He touched so many lives and I’m so happy that  my son was able to meet him too. 
I will forever miss you, cousin — until we meet again.  XOXO 


Thank you Ray for your guidance when I was in my rough patch throughout middle school and freshman year. Your  compassion yet stern demeanor made an impact on me that I took with me in to my own law enforcement career. Had you not looked out for me I wouldn’t have been able to pursue that career path either. 

Rest in paradise. 

Ray was my son in law. He excelled at being a marine. I admired his dedication and his devotion to the ideals of the Corp. He didn't have it easy as a child. He took some hard hits. Yet he was always positive about those things in life that are important, especially family. He  wanted to be a big Brother to everyone, especially those that were experiencing rough times. He always had good advice and kind words of  encouragement. Ray had a great deal to give and he worked at it until the end. When he left the service and settled in Florida, we did our communicating by phone. Our conversations were always about his boys and what they were doing.  Raymond, Alex and Jason, they were his life. Even during his last days, he spoke optimistically about his treatment and his chances for a full recovery and his boys'. I will miss Ray and our talks. I offer him a final salute, as he moves to his new assignment in a far better place than he has ever known.  

Omg, so sorry to hear this very sad news.  Thanks for all the laughs and great stories you told.  I was hoping to see you working next year elections.  God called you home for he has work for you to do in heaven.  You will be forever missed! Keep smiling.  Prayers to your family.

I was thrilled to have Ray  come to his  new assignment where he immediately made an impact. He greeted me with life every morning.  He was undeniably a man with a big heart.  He always asked about my son, Tyler.  I appreciated his enthusiasm and dedication to youth. Thank you for the great memories at work and The YRB fantasy  football league. 

Ray will live forever in our hearts. I worked with Ray and he coached my son in football. He always had a smile and a word of advice. His memory will live on in the lives of the kids he coached and his colleagues. He was an exceptional individual. We will take it from here. 

I want to send my condolences to the Trujillo family.  
I've known Ray since our HighSchool days... and luckily reconnected through Facebook .  Since then we've stayed in touch ..reaching out periodically checking on one another.  
I'm going to miss our long conversations ...about his boys,work and everyday life events.  
Going to miss his words of wisdom that he always offered to me in the time of need.
Cant say enough about this great guy...

Was deeply saddened to hear about Ray’s passing ♥️ We were  neighbors in La Puente & I always remember Ray stopping by to talk with us & mostly with my dad, Jesse.  Also remember accidentally slicing my hand with a kitchen knife & Ray happened to stop by, ran in, & applied pressure to stop the bleeding (still have the scar💕 which will always treasure).  Thank you, Ray, for being such a wonderful person, for your heart of Gold, & for being a part of our lives!!

Marine, Deputy, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend.. 

This man had many titles and accomplished many things in his short life. He fought many battles and always came out on top.

On Saturday morning a battle, stronger and more powerful than most took his life to soon.. 

I am truly proud to have called you my uncle and you will be deeply missed! You were always full of knowledge and always tried to lead me in the right path. I took for granted the time that I no longer have.. 

Until we meet again, I love you and I miss you! 


I met Ray in 2007 and he would drive across the state to come and see me. It was a blessing to have him in my life and see a softer side of him and spend time with him and his two young sons which he absolutely adored. He also talked often of Raymond his older son and loved him dearly. He supported me through some really difficult times and was a gentle soul underneath the tough-guy exterior. He was a fierce protector and took great pride in his work and all of his years of service. He became a surrogate father to my daughter. He loved to go dancing and we bonded over our love for funk music. Even though the years went by we stayed in touch. I love him very much and am so sad that he left us way too early.  
Sending all of you a big gigantic Ray hug to help you with the grief and a reminder that love never dies and he is still with us in spirit. ❤️ 


Jason & Family:  it is with fond memories that we remember your father as our YRD at LWTC some years back, when you were a culinary arts student in our class. Your father was SO proud of your accomplishments.  He talked about you all the time. He was a good man, taken much too soon. God takes the good ones young. My sincerest condolences to you and your family in your time of grief.   Ray, Rest In Peace my friend.

I am so very saddened by the loss of Ray !!! I offer my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. May Ray's soul be at peace with our Heavenly Father. I pray for peace and comfort for you and your loved ones at this difficult time and offer my condolences to you all. Ray's loud yet gentle soul will always be in our hearts.

Over the last several summers I worked the Boys and Girls Club with Ray, both in Naples and Immokalee. After we would finish with the rock wall, Ray and I would grab lunch at El Taquito #2 it was one of his favorites ! Ray would never let you pay, and he was sneaky about it too. He would say, "I'm going to the restroom, and pay for the bill."  Honestly, he had one of the BIGGEST HEARTS, I have ever seen.  Ray, never had a problem with conversation !! But if you ever wanted to get him going... mention his boys!! He was such a proud Father. 

You will be missed my friend, our meetings, and conferences will not be the same without you !!

So many memories of Ray at work, "Sarge! I need to show you something/tell you something/ discuss something." So much energy. 
Ray introduced me to A Message to Garcia.  Ray  could have been the subject had it not been written so long ago. Elbert Hubbard writes" It is not book learning young men need, nor instruction about this and that, but a stiffening of the vertebrae which will cause them to be loyal to a trust, to act promptly,  concentrate their energies; do the thing- carry a message to Garcia!" Ray was a good troop.  He did exactly what was asked.  He would certainly been who I would have chosen to deliver a message to General Garcia.
He will be sorely missed.  

Ray was such an outstanding and supporting deputy for the students at Estates Elementary.  He had a heart of gold and a passion for our most troubled youth! 

He even supported me raising my own children and took my oldest daughter out driving before she took her driving text for some final pointers and took several family photos for us!!

Thank you Ray for your dedication to our youth!
