

Richard J. Morbee, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was predeceased by his parents, Jordaen and Cecilia Morbee; brother, Jordaen Morbee and dear friend and mentor, John R. Haggerty.
Rich retired as a Senior Vice President of Finance from Summit Bank, previously United Jersey Banks/Princeton NJ in 2000. He moved to Naples, FL in 2004 where he enjoyed working part time as a starter/ranger at Cedar Hammock Golf and Country Club, for 5 years.
Rich formerly of Howell and Hightstown NJ, grew up in Roselle, NJ where he attended St. Joseph the Carpenter Church. He graduated from Roselle Catholic High School where he was part of the 1963 North Jersey “A” State Basketball Championship team. He attended South Texas College in Houston, TX and Biscayne College in Miami, FL where he was awarded basketball scholarships.
Rich is survived by his loving wife, Dawn; first wife Joann, devoted mother of their 3 children; daughter, Tracy Shellard married to Gerald, and granddaughters, Abigail and Julia, of Cranston, RI; son, Richard V. Morbee, married to Megan and granddaughters Ella and Olivia of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; son, Christopher M. of Howell, NJ. He is also survived by his loving sister Anne Raftree of Westfield, and sisters Elizabeth Morbee-Musano of Union, NJ and Joan Morbee of Augusta, NJ, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St Peter the Apostle Church, located at 5130 Rattlesnake Hammock Road, Naples, FL 34113 on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 10 AM, followed by interment of his ashes at Naples Memorial Gardens, located at 525 111th Avenue N., Naples, FL 34108.
A memorial service will be planned for late spring/early summer in NJ.
