Samuel was born in Pampa, Texas, to Anthony Lumia and Carrie DeJoy on March 12th, 1943. He grew up in Jamestown, New York and traveled to Chicago to attend Chicago Technical College where he joined Sigma Phi Delta fraternity and earned a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering. He worked as an architect and later went on to establish his own design build company. He married Sandra on January 15th, 1966, in Chicago, IL. Sam had a great sense of humor. He was a man of integrity, kindness and patience. He loved to golf. Above all he loved and cherished his family and trusted deeply in the Lord.
Samuel is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Lumia; three children, Mark (Carolyn), Mary (Brian), and Ann; eight grandchildren (Sammy, Robert, Charlotte, Madison, Christine, Devin, Hannah, and Molly), and sister Karen and his niece Lisa.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm on Friday, May 30th, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Naples, Florida.
He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Avow Hospice.
