Timothy Michael Ryan of Naples, Florida went home to our Lord on January 9, 2025. Tim was born on July 7, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Jack and Ruthie Ryan. One of eleven children born to Jack and Ruthie, he grew up in Pennsylvania before his family moved to Naples in the 1970s. There, he met his wife Mary Frances (Franie), and together the two shared a beautiful 42 year marriage with two daughters, Jenny and Patty, and four grandchildren, Brett, Maggie, Joshua and Dillon.
Prior to his retirement, Tim was a successful Electrical Contractor and established his own company, Tropical Electric Service, in 1982 where he enjoyed serving his clients and friends throughout his career. He was passionate about blending creation and innovation to provide remarkable lighting designs for both interior living spaces and exterior landscaping, and he was ahead of his time on the projects that he loved to design and execute.
More than his career; however, Tim was incredibly proud of his nearly five decades of sobriety and actively participated in many local groups of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he mentored, coached and encouraged countless individuals to find hope. Tim proudly carried the AA Chip of both him and his father, Jack, wherever he went - together representing nearly a century of sobriety.
Tim was an exceptional family-man, one who never missed a chance to make his family laugh to tears with his quiet humor and wit, or to book a last minute escape to Disney World just to surprise his girls. He was a loving and dedicated father to his daughters, and his favorite role of all was that of “Papa” to his four grandchildren, all of whom absolutely adored the man who always shone brightest in their presence.
Tim was a practicing Catholic and a man of great faith, lovingly sharing how the grace, peace and love of the Lord shaped him into the man he was with all who would listen. He was an outstanding husband, father and grandfather in every way possible, and while his daily love, presence, humor and wisdom will be dearly missed, he has left a lasting legacy that will live on in the hearts of his family.
Tim is survived by his wife, Franie Ryan; daughters, Jenny Knutowski and Patty Carroll; sons-in-law, Jason Knutwoski and Declan Carroll; grandchildren, Brett Knutowski, Margaret Knutowski, Joshua Carroll and Dillon Carroll; and siblings, Vincent Ryan, David Ryan, Daniel Ryan and Julie March.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 1 at 11 a.m. at St. William’s Church in Naples, Fl. Tim’s family invites you to join them in a celebration of a life so very well lived
