Vincent James (Jimmy) Papia, 98 of Naples, FL, passed away on January 19, 2014. Vincent was born in New York City on April 13, 1915. He married his wife Theresa on February 21, 1937 and they spent 59 happy years together. Theresa precedes Vincent in death, passing in September 1996. Vincent worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, retiring in 1975 after 35 years of service. He had a passion for old movies, John Wayne and the New York Yankees. One of his fondest memories was as a youngster meeting Babe Ruth at Yankee Stadium.
Vincent is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and George Labance, one grandson and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mona Cataluna, 100 years old of Chicago, Illinois.
Visitation will be at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 10am-12pm. Service will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 12:30pm.
