Alfredo Diaz del Valle

Alfredo Diaz del Valle, born on December 2, 1928, passed away in Lafayette, La. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 87 years of age. Alfredo, a U.S. Citizen, was a native of La Ceiba, Honduras and lifelong resident of Metairie, La. Alfredo is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorila E. Diaz del Valle; his adoring children, Yvonne D. Opie (Jim), Alfredo Diaz del Valle, Jr. (Sherry) and Liliana Sikaffy; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Alfredo was preceded in death by his beloved father, Gilberto, and mother, Consuelo in Honduras; his sister, Emma Dolores Diaz del Valle Worner and his brother, Antonio Diaz del Valle both of New Orleans. He was a proud retiree of the Waterman Steamship Corporation, having worked as an electrician and traveling the world whenever needed for ship repairs at sea. His love of family and friends was unparalleled and will always be held dear by those he showered that love upon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Thursday, December 17, 2015.
