Allan Edwin Amundson, Jr. of Metairie, Louisiana entered eternal rest at the age of 73 on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at East Jefferson General Hospital. Loving and devoted father of his only daughter, Paige Amundson-Saleun. Father-in-law of Jacques Saleun. Adoring grandfather of Ainsley, Antoine and André Saleun. Son of the late Inez (Honey) Fellon Amundson and Allan Edwin Amundson, Sr. Brother of Richard Amundson and Kim Amundson.
Allan had a successful career as a general contractor in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Charles Parishes.
In retirement he enjoyed his position as an FHA and VA inspector. For the past 6 months, Allan had been studying the Catechesis of the Catholic Church with the goal of conversion. He achieved that goal just prior to his death.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 631 State Street, New Orleans, La. 70118 on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Mass to follow at 12:00 noon.
