Allene Solari Gottesman, age 81, of Kenner, LA passed away March 23, 2023. Allene was born February 17, 1942, to Mary Virginia Stroud Solari and Maj. Alvin Solari, USAF, who served as a fighter pilot in the Pacific Theater during WWII and as a flight instructor after the conclusion of the war.
Allene was born in Memphis, TN where she spent her youth before moving to the New Orleans area. Allene was a graduate of East Jefferson High School.
Allene had been involved in many civic and charitable organizations and served on the board of the following organizations: Lafreniere Park, Lake Pontchartrain Jefferson Parish Parkway, Cancer Crusaders, and Chefs’ Charity for Children.
Allene was most at home in the kitchen preparing a gourmet meal for her beloved family. She traveled extensively and went on cruises all over the world. She enjoyed attending charitable events and going out to dinner with family and friends. Allene was a skilled bowler and loved playing bridge with her friends.
Allene was predeceased by her beloved husband, Morris Gottesman, her mother, Mary Virginia Stroud Solari and her father Alvin Solari. She is survived by her sister, Mary Frances Barr (Alfred); her two daughters: Michele Shane L’Hoste (Randall) and Stacey Shane Schott (Paul); her two grandchildren: Amanda Lynn Schott and Austin Jonathan Schott; and her two step-children: Suzette Gottesman Earle (David) and Morris Gottesman, Jr. (Heidi).
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Divine Mercy Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy, Kenner, LA, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and at Divine Mercy beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will follow Mass at Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
