Angelina Pumilia Favalora was called to heaven on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the age of 93. Angie was born, reared and lived in New Orleans, LA until the spring of 2020. She then moved to Biloxi, MS to live with her loving son and his wife. This proved to be a great time for bonding of son and mother as they had at least a state between them for over 70 years. Later, a true blessing as they were able to care for his mother until her passing. She is survived by her beloved son Thomas M. Favalora, Jr. (Jacqueline), a loving granddaughter, Misty Favalora Bowman and her great-grandchildren Alyssa and Carter Bowman. She was born to the late Peter and Conchetta Pumilia. She was also preceded in death by her sister Rosa Pumilia, her two brothers Charles A. and Anthony J. Pumilia. She is also survived by her cousin Samuel Allusi and her three nieces Charlene Pumilia Jeffrey, Barbara Pumilia Boyle ad Maxine Pumilia Eiserloh. There is also a host of great and great, great nieces and nephews. Angelina graduated from L. E. Rabouin Vocational High School in 1946. She then started her career as a bookkeeper and ended as Assistant Manager after over 30 years at A & P grocery store’s Robt.E. Lee location. Where retirement means slowing down and relaxing to most this was not the way she would spend the rest of her many years. Her culinary skills were awesome and will be missed especially so during the holidays! She spent countless hours at her church and was dedicated to Blessed Francis X. Seelos Church yearly St. Joseph’s Day altar. She also would busy herself with grocery or doctor transport for not only her family but also for their many friends. Her love of gardening not only consisted of planting but also the dirty work of hand weeding and clearing yards for two of her siblings and a number of mutual friends. Driving (without the benefits of interstate) encompassed trips from the Industrial Canal area to either Metairie, Jefferson or Harahan. She did this until past her 91st birthday – and it was done with love and caring, expecting nothing in return. She also enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed! Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at LAKELAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, from 11 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. with services immediately to follow. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
