

She graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School in 1945 and worked as a banker at the Greater New Orleans Credit Union. Mickey was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, she loved The Saints and LSU football, all parades, the color ‘pink’, and was a past Queen 1975 The Krewe of Mid-City.
Mickey is preceded in death by her husband of ten years, Alex J. Bauer; her parents, Arthur J. Heyd and Elmore Anderson Heyd; sister, Arthemise J. Ride; and granddaughter, Tina Marie Kirby.
Mickey is survived by her daughter, Charlene Johnston Kirby (Richard); sons, George “Skipper” W. Johnston (Beryl) and Artie J. Johnston (Donna); grandchildren, Timothy Kirby (Alicia) and Erin P. Johnston; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 11 AM. Visitation will begin at 9 AM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
