He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Gomez Sr. and Lillie Giardina Gomez.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Mezzacapa Gomez; children, Steven Gomez (Mary), Sandra Gomez Sturgis, Deborah Gomez, and Lisa Neff (Cleve); thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Tony was a very strong man that worked very hard to take care of his family. He went through many hardships of going out of town working when there was no work in New Orleans. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic in Local 11 and was a member of good standing. Tony was a member of the Retirees club who participated in all of the activities. He liked woodwork and made wooden rocking horses for each of his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans.
