OBITUARY

Barbara Cobb Bradford

5 May, 1934 – 26 April, 2024
IN THE CARE OF

Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries

Barbara Ann Cobb Bradford passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, William H Cobb and Iris Guidry Cobb and husband James W. Bradford. She is survived by her four children, James W Bradford (Sandra), Janine Bradford, Kayne Bradford Stewart (John) and Serena Bradford (John Seright); 7 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Barbara spent her early years in uptown New Orleans attending Holy Name of Jesus School until her parents moved to Old Metairie where she graduated from St Catherine of Siena (1949) then attended Mount Carmel Academy and Rabouin. She loved art, ballet, music, plants, animals, and old movies. Her album collection was extensive- from Rimsky Korsakov to the Beatles, she loved music. Having a keen sense of color, she loved art especially Art Nouveau and Alphonse Mucha. She had a green thumb, and all species of animals adored her. Barbara endured a lot of pain during her life, but always showed complete compassion to others. Throughout her life, she would talk about her childhood with great fondness - the memories of visiting her Cajun grandmother and cousins in Montegut brought her incredible joy - as the song goes “they’re always having a good time down on the bayou”. Many thanks to her friends at Ville Ste Marie, especially Amanda, Marie, and Erlene, and Kelly for their patience and kindness. Barbara will be buried in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. The family invites you to share thoughts, fond memories and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
