Barbara Bominder Hefner passed away peacefully at home at the age of 83 on December 12, 2022. She was born on December 23, 1938 in New Orleans. She successfully owned and operated the Barbara Bominder School of Dance for 40 years. In addition to her career in dance, she also worked as a school bus driver for Jefferson Parish and was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister. Surviving her are: her husband of 63 years, Glenn N. Hefner; her children, Tammy H. Spreen (Donald), Gretchen N. Hefner, Mitch H. Hefner (Carolyn), and Glenn V. Hefner; her six grandchildren, Jennifer Carver, Kristen Jenkins (Garrett), Casey Spreen (Brittany), Victoria Manale (Connor), Mallory Hefner, and Jeffrey Hefner; her nine great-grandchildren, Alyssa Townsend, Tatum Scimeca, Landon Spreen, Hensley Spreen, Shep Jenkins, Kohen Manale, Ledger Spreen, Palmer Jenkins, and Greyden Manale; her nephew and many nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave in Metairie, on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12PM. Visitation will begin at 10AM.
