I can not believe it is 2 years since Ms. Beryl passed.  I was neighbor with Elaine Brown, a very good friend of Ms. Beryl, we went to Garden Club and other meetings together. Miss them both, she was such a sweet and refined lady!  

Beryl and I were friends when we were young teenagers and I lived on South Roman Street; we both went to McMain.  She was a lovely, gentle person who was unconditionally kind and supportive to a younger girl who was lonely.  Then I moved away, and I saw her only once more, about 15 years later; she was still that gracious Beryl.  What a role model she was for a girl who had no sister!  For several years she was like an older sister to me.

Dear Patin Family,

We were so saddened to hear about the loss of Mrs. Patin, who was the first grade teacher of our son John at Woodlake Elementary in Mandeville.  He was so blessed to have such a warm, caring, traditional teacher at such a formative age. 
As parents, we always greatly valued her important contribution to his education. When we saw her on occasion in later years, she always asked about him, and never forgot her students!
Please know that John will never forget her, and that we will all keep your family in our prayers.

Mrs. Patin was my 1st grade teacher back in the year 2000. I remember her with such fondness. What a special lady. My condolences to her family.  


Mrs. Patin, What a gem! There are so many wonderful comments to be said. She was an amazing person and an unbelievably great teacher. She had such control of  her 20 little first graders at Woodlake, and she did it without ever raising her voice. We marveled at her. She was kind, caring, and gracious. She epitomized an elegant lady. She was a very special friend, whom we adored. She will be missed by many. She always lit up as she spoke of her family. Our thoughts, love, and prayers are with all of you.

Alan was her student. She delighted us, when she attended his high school graduation in 2011. It meant the world to us. She was the kind of person whom we should all strive to be. 


Gene and I always enjoyed sharing our Sunday church service with Beryl.  She was a lovely lady who will be missed.  My deepest sympathy to her family of whom she was so very proud.

She was my first grade teacher a long time ago but we always ran into her in the store ever since I was little. I ran into her since having my first daughter and she got to meet her. She was always so sweet. I wish I could’ve seen her again. 

A cherished friend, Beryl, husband Tommy("Son"), Mary Agnes,  and the entire Patin family have been both kind and generous to me for 55 years.  

Beryl was a true Southern lady.  There have been so many wonderful times with Beryl, her close friend Katherine, and so many of the old blood, true, New Orleans gentry.

I enjoyed seeing Beryl at Beau Chene Garden Club events.  She was always dressed in her classic solid colors with pearls... Beryl was a lovely lady, and good friend of my neighbor Elaine Brown.  She will be missed, may she rest in peace. 

Our family was blessed, truly blessed, to have Mrs. Patin teach two of our sons. She also became a generous friend. The epitome of grace and style,  she taught me important lessons on mothering. She told me that while my children were young to "let the cobwebs grow". Spending time with them was the most important thing. And who could ever forget the magic couch?
