Betty Hron

Betty Smith Hron, born in Schroeppel, New York on June 8, 1938, and a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on December 27, 2015, at the age of 77. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert John Hron, Sr.; her parents, Lula Merritt and Gilbert Smith; and her sister, Eleanor Groesbeck. Survived by her devoted children, Joel Maurice Hron (Pattie), Terry Hron Migliore (Jack), and Robert John Hron, Jr. (Theresa). Loving grandmother of her eight grandchildren Patrick Hron, JT Migliore (Sarah), Joel Hron II (Bridget), Anna Migliore, Christin Hron Trusheim (Jay), Rebecca Hron, Amy Migliore, and Scott Migliore and her five great-grandchildren Charlotte Hron, Jackson Migliore, Grace Trusheim, Jacob Trusheim, and Cameron Migliore. Also survived by her sister, Frances Cughan; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was a graduate of Fulton High School and a 1959 graduate of Syracuse University. She completed her nursing training at Syracuse General Hospital. She worked most of her professional career at Jefferson Parish Correction Center as Health Services Administrator. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 3:00pm.
