

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Carl Lemar Boucher, Jr., who departed this life on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the age of 78 leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to his family and friends. Whilst we will miss him terribly, we are thankful that the Lord was merciful and welcomed him into paradise where he will no longer endure any suffering.
Born on March 4, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Carl lived a life of unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community. With a kind heart and a steadfast spirit, he touched the lives of all who knew him.
Carl proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for four years, embodying the values of duty and service. Following his military career, he dedicated himself to a long and fulfilling tenure with the United States Postal Service, where he retired as a respected Postmaster.
A man of deep love and quiet strength, Carl was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 50 years, Cynthia Miller Boucher, and his cherished son, Stephen Jude Boucher. Carl and Cynthia’s devotion to each other was a testament to their blessed bond, a visible sign of God’s love and grace . He was also reunited in eternity with his parents, Mary Gabler Boucher and Carl Lemar Boucher, Sr., as well as his beloved mother-in-law, Eleanor Landry Miller, and his son-in-law, John Cortez Isbell.
He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his love in their hearts. Carl is survived by his dear companion, Barbara Thibodeaux, a beautiful blessing to he and his family; his daughter, Noelle Boucher Young (Trey); his sisters, Kimberly Boucher Thompson (Cecil) and Dawn Boucher Eggendorfer (Reiner); his brother, Michael Joseph Boucher (Laurie); and his treasured grandsons, Keaton Boucher Isbell, Jackson Henry Young, and Jude Landry Young.
His memory will also be carried on by his nieces, Colleen Turner, Mallory David, Olivia Rooney, and Jessica Rogers, as well as his nephews, Christian Turner, Stephen Thompson Perino (Val), and the late Sean Thompson. His extended family, including his sisters-in-law, Faye Miller Cabirac (Chester), Connie Miller David (Steve), and brother-in-law, Tom David, will continue to honor his legacy.
Carl’s life was a testament to faith, resilience, and love.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at 12:00PM at St. Albert’s Catholic Chapel on the Southeastern Louisiana University campus, 409 W. Dakota Street in Hammond, Louisiana.
