

David Judson Yeats passed away on February 26, 2021 at the age of 36. He was born July 19th, 1984 in Bedford, Texas. Judson graduated from the University of North Texas, where he was active in Model International Organization. He graduated in 2009 with a Bachelors in History and International Studies and a minor in German. Judson always put his beliefs into action. He spent a year as an intern in Washington. He was a proud supporter of the ACLU. He attended demonstrations, rallies, and protests. He volunteered much of his time and love with Dallas Resource Center. In Dallas, Judson met the love of his life, Marty Authier. The couple moved to New Orleans, where Judson worked as a grant manager. The two spent time together enjoying music, video games, film, and a lifelong fandom for Mystery Science Theater 3000. They also doted on their irascible pet tortoise, Spike. Judson was a fiercely witty and a deeply caring person. He listened patiently and could make people laugh instantly. Judson’s demeanor was always calm and kind. He was a wonderful partner, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Schnell, and his maternal grandmother, Connie Schnell. He is survived by: his partner, Marty Authier; parents, David Yeats and Gigi Yeats; brother, Garret Yeats (Melonie); relatives on his mother’s side: aunts, Sallie Schnell and Susie Spencer (Jeff); and uncle, Neil Schnell (Mel LeRoy); relatives on his father’s side: grandmother Janie Turner, grandfather David Yeats (Sylvia) uncle Jimmy Yeats (Kelli), and his aunt Michelle Ewing; his partner’s parents, Tom and Marcia Authier; partner’s siblings, Renee Wasilik, (Steve), Della Childress (Mike), Scott Authier (Jenny), Shelli Jaeger (Brian), and Christa Crawford (Grant); numerous cousins, thirteen nieces and nephews, and the many of those whose lives he touched.
Services in memory of Mona Constance McCullough Schnell and David Judson Yeats will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Services will be held at the Martin United Methodist Church located on 2621 Bedford Rd., Bedford, TX 76021 and will be available on the Martin United Methodist Church's Facebook at the time of the service.
