

Dolores Frickey Zaccaria, was born in Des Allemands and resided in New Orleans and returned to Des Allemands before becoming a longtime resident of River Ridge, LA, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday June 9, 2022. She was 88.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years of marriage, the late Judge Frank Vincent Zaccaria, Sr. her son, Frank Vincent Zaccaria, Jr., her mother, Theresa Lucia Frickey, her father, Joseph E. Frickey, Sr., and her step great-grandson, Jonathan Blake Mayfield.
She is survived by her daughters Gwen Ann Zaccaria and Lisa Zaccaria Barnett and her husband Robert Alan Barnett, all of Covington, LA. Mother-in-law of Nancy Stephens Mayfield Zaccaria of Ruston, LA. Grandmother of Kimberly DeLatte Nakich (Erik), Emily DeLatte Elder (Benjamin), William Alan Barnett, Zachary James Barnett, and Christopher Michael Barnett. Great-grandmother to Luke William Elder and Vivienne Elise Nakich. Sister of Joseph Edward Frickey, Jr., and Patricia Frickey Roger (Marvin). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Step grandmother to Gerald Keith Mayfield (Jan) and Geoffrey Stephen Mayfield (Jane). Step great-grandmother to Michael Keith Mayfield, Nicholas Alexander Mayfield, Nathaniel James Mayfield, Dontay Jackson, Hannah Marie Mayfield, and Daniel Stephen Mayfield.
Dolores “Dee” enjoyed extensive travel and cultural experiences, cooking, family time in Grand Isle, LA and giving back to her community. She was a co-founder of the Jefferson Bar Association Auxiliary. She also founded the Italian American Society of Jefferson Auxiliary. She was very proud of her work as the chair of the organization’s locally published cookbook, Italian-American Heritage Cookbook of Jefferson, now in its third print edition and is retitled The New Orleans Italian Cookbook. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Italian American Federation. She was a member of the Krewe of Les Marionettes, the Elenian Club and has been a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church for sixty years.
The family wishes to thank Dr. J. Kevin Russ and Family Medical Practice, the many medical teams at East Jefferson General Hospital, and the amazing staff and residents at St. Francis Villa who became family.

The eulogy and funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 12:15pm at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 10021 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held prior to mass from 11:00am – Noon. Father Lee Poche, pastor of St. Matthew the Apostle Church, will celebrate the mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum, Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, LA, 504-486-6331. Lake Lawn is also in charge of arrangements.
