

Dorothy Strikmiller Kramer entered into her eternal rest, after a brief illness, on Monday, September 26, 2016, at the age of 93. Dorothy, “Dot”, or “Nen”, as she was affectionately known, was the beloved wife of the late Louis George Kramer, Jr., and loving mother to her daughter, Carolyn Kramer. She is survived by her siblings, Bernadine Wagner and Warren Strikmiller. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Eva and Seymour Strikmiller, and siblings Alice Strikmiller, Violet Doane, Exzilda (Sue) Impastato, and Leslie Strikmiller. She enjoyed a long tenure at Lengsfield Brothers where she worked and was well respected for 60 years. She was a practicing member of Transfiguration of the Lord Church in New Orleans. She will be sorely missed by everyone, but we know that she is in the loving arms of God. Relatives, friends, former associates at Lengsfield Brothers, and the Office of Community Services are invited to attend the funeral mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery #1. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Association of the Miraculous Medal, 1811 St. Joseph St., Perryville, Missouri 63775 or Second Harvest Food Bank, 700 Edwards Avenue, New Orleans, La 70123.
