Earle Joseph Knauer Sr.

Earle Joseph Knauer, Sr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. He was born in New Orleans, LA to his late parents, John H. Knauer and Christine Essinger Knauer. Beloved husband of 64 years to Marie Mantel Knauer. He was the brother of the late John Knauer and Earline Schmidt. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Viberg, wife of James Viberg, Rebecca Nuccio, wife of Philip Nuccio, and son, Earle Joseph Knauer, Jr. husband of Monica Knauer. Grandfather of Jennifer Portera (Samuel), Amy Martinez (Giovanni), Kara and Carley Viberg, Kelly Sims (Timmy), Katie Banquer (Barry), Kristy Bourgeois, (Matthew), Bennett Nuccio; Meredith Knauer, Mitchell Knauer and Matthew Knauer. Great-grandfather of Allison Portera; Christian, Gavin and Austin Martinez; Landon Johnson; Ava, Sophia and Eliza Sims; Joseph Banquer and Fynn Bourgeois.

Mr. Knauer was proud to serve in the U.S. Marine Corp, 8th Division during the Korean War. He worked for Aetna Engineers for 31 years. He was then self-employed for another 36 years as a Structural Steel Detailer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Ponchartrain Blvd. In New Orleans, on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 9:00AM, a Funeral Service will follow at 10:00AM.
