Elaine Rita McCraney

Elaine Rita Hentze McCraney passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the age of 82. Elaine grew up in New Orleans, attended Annunciation High School and married the love of her life “Eddie” shortly after graduation. Their children and grandchildren were her greatest joys in life. She was blessed with wonderful family and lifelong friends. Her warm smile and kind heart are what made everyone she met feel special and this truly was her special gift from God. She loved the Lord and her catholic faith. Although she worked in the field of dentistry throughout her long career, being a wife, a mom, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister and a friend were her greatest calling. Elaine loved to read, to cook, enjoyed a good dessert, the warmth of a sunny beach, but all she really needed was to be surrounded by her people with a puppy at her side. She was beautiful inside and out and will be missed every day. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Aline Streck Hentze and Cyril G Hentze. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 12pm. A visitation will begin at 10am until mass. Inurnment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
