Elaine M. Wiltz

Elaine Moraus Wiltz, 83, of Metairie, passed away on April 9, 2026. She was born in Mansura, LA to Govie Moraus, Sr. and Leona Michel Moraus. Elaine was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She married Gerald Wiltz on May 8, 1965, and they were married for 26 years at the time of his passing.

Elaine had a deep love of caring for others and found her calling as a registered nurse. She graduated from Charity School of Nursing. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, completing puzzles, and watching western movies. Other passions of hers were gardening and cooking. She especially loved cooking all the family’s favorite Cajun foods.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Gerald” Wiltz Sr.; parents; and brother, Fr. Govie Moraus Jr.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Gerald Wiltz Jr. (Lori); sister, Marilyn Moraus Mayeaux; brother, Joseph Young Moraus; and granddaughter, Addison R. Wiltz.

The family wishes to thank the care provided to Elaine from all the caregivers at Metairie Health Care Center and Harmony Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am prior to the service. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
