Elizabeth Krebs

Elizabeth “Betty” Prillmayer Krebs passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015. She was born in Quincy, Illinois on September 9, 1929, and had lived in New Orleans since 1946. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph J. Krebs, Jr. and by her parents, William L. Prillmayer and Geneva M. Prillmayer. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Murphy (Tim), her son David J. Krebs, her sister Pat Floyd of Spring, TX, her five grandchildren, Brendan Murphy, Katie Murphy, Evan Murphy, Charles S. Green, Jr. and Elizabeth Brandy Beck of Albuquerque, NM and by her four great-grandchildren, Brook Beck, McKenna Beck, Campbell Beck and Olivia Green. Betty graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican College in 1951, was a long-time parishioner of St. Mathew the Apostle Church in River Ridge, and was an active volunteer at Covenant House, the Symphony Book Fair and WYES. Betty had an open and generous heart, and never met a stranger. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
