Emily Baggese Tierney

Emily Baggese Tierney passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the age of 95. She is survived by her loving daughter, Colleen Tierney. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles L. Tierney, Jr.; parents, Charles and Emily Baggese; brother, C. J. Baggese, Jr.; and sister, Aurelia Frentz. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Emily was born and raised in New Orleans, and graduated from John McDonough, and attended Tulane University. She began her career in accounting with Prudential Insurance, and later was the Principal’s secretary at Grace King High School. Emily was the Past Matron of Encircler Chapter #191 OES, and a member of Salem United Church of Christ in New Orleans. She loved cooking, playing cards with the Canasta Girls, and travelling with her daughter.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and compassion Covenant Nursing Home gave to Emily during her stay.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM.
