Emily "Emmy Bear" Catherine Upton Weaver

Emily Upton Weaver, age 34, a beloved wife, cherished daughter, loving sister, and devoted aunt, passed peacefully to her eternal home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in New Orleans. She was born in New Orleans on December 7, 1990.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 10 years, Robert Weaver, the love of her life. She is also survived by her parents, Pamela Cooke Gits (Ed) and Steven J. Upton (Lori); her siblings, Jason Upton (Kacey) and Stephanie Upton Hostetler (Jonny); her mother-in-law, Jane Weaver; her grandfather, Kenneth D. Upton, Jr.; her nephews, Logan, Colton, Maverick, and Bradley; her stepbrothers, Thomas and Adam Duthu; her Godchild, Carter; as well as, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Jackie Cooke, and Anna Maria Cescut Upton.

Fondly known as “Emmy Bear”, her warmth, kindness, and loving spirit touched everyone she met. While quiet by nature, she had a wonderful sense of humor and lit up every room with her beautiful smile and gentle nature. She loved long walks with her beloved dog, Loki. Emily was greatly loved and will be profoundly missed by her devoted husband, her parents, siblings, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, on Friday, June 6, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at 1:00 PM in the adjacent Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum with a reception immediately following at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
