I'm saddened to find out Fred passed away. He was the kindest and most thoughtful man I have ever known. I worked with him for many years when he supported Shell Norco with his talent. His intelligence was astounding. He kept our morale up and taught me what "soup to nuts" was. I emailed him over the years and we talked and then I didn't get a response.  I thought maybe he was busy. Keep you memories close to your heart.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I just loved your dad!  I loved the conversation we would have when I visited.  He was a special man that has left you all with very special memories.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is especially tough at this time of the year.  

I just wanted to let you know that your dad was a kind individual and I   always looked forward to seeing him the couple of times of year at Christmas and Thanksgiving.  He made you feel so at ease and was an easy-going guy that you could to talk to him about anything. 

You and your family will be in my prayers and I know he is in a better place.

Meghan, Amanda and Lauren, I am so saddened by the loss of your father. I remember when Eddie and I started dating, Eddie wanted me to meet all his family. Fred and Barbara were on the top of the list. They were best friends and remained friends until the end. God has taken another good one and I know Eddie greeted him in heaven with open arms. I wish I could be at the funeral tomorrow but I will be there in spirit. Love, Pat Welsch

Fred Masset and I both went to work for Tandem Computers in 1983.  It was a very small office (6 people in all) there in Metairie.  For the rest of the 1980's, Fred and I worked together almost every day.   We were the only two software guys and during that period I think we spent more time with each other than we did with our families.   I didn't know for a long time that Fred had a PhD.  Once I found out I always liked to introduce Fred to new customers as Dr. Fred Masset.   Fred would always respond with yes, but I'm not the kind of doctor that can do you any good.  It may have taken a little while to learn about the degree but not the family.  Fred always liked to talk about his family and I always knew the latest about the three girls and Barbara.  
So, Fred was a hard worker, humble, a family man, funny and a man of faith. Fortunately, we stayed in touch over the years. I am proud to have known and worked with Fred and I look forward to seeming him again someday in eternity!  (Some photos posted separately)

You are in our thoughts and prayers.  Fred was a good husband, great father, and wonderful person.  We have many fond memories being with your parents as our children grew up.  So much fun with many parties especially our many New Years Eves together.  You now have two angels partying hard together again.  We will always remember the great times we had.

Fred & I went to St. Dominic elementary school and Jesuit High  School in the same grade through out.  I am truly saddened by his passing and hope that he is in heaven now with our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that God our Father will comfort his family.✝

My sincerest condolences to Fred's family.  Fred and I worked together at Tandem in the 80's and he was a pleasure to be around.  He was always such a Southern gentleman.
