Georgia Garrett-Klingman passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 peacefully at her home. She was born in Abilene, TX to Harry and Bonnie Garrett. Survived by her husband Russell Klingman; twin sons Garrett and Derrick Klingman; sisters Jennifer Petler (Gary), Sarah Guidry (Darrell), and Mary Weldon. Georgia was a graduate of Terrebonne High School, Nicholls State University, Charity School of Nursing, and earned a Masters degree from the University of St. Francis. Georgia started her career as a teacher at East Jefferson High School and went on to become an RN, and continued on to get her CRNA; and followed in her Mother’s footsteps by becoming President of Louisiana Association of Nursing Anesthetist. Georgia was a loving and devoted mother and had a passion for her family, gaining knowledge, and a multitude of other activities.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until service time.
