Gladys Trammell Meynier

Gladys Trammell Meynier, age 94, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2016. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Old Jefferson for the past 64 years. She was the daughter of the late Wallace Harper Trammell and Elizabeth Bing Trammell. She was married to her late beloved husband, Warren Edward Meynier for 67 years. She is survived by her loving daughter, Betty Meynier Paulhus and her husband Raymond Edward; two grandchildren, Michael Edward Paulhus and his wife Marie-Elysse and Melanie Ann Paulhus Brawley and her husband Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Benz Matthew Brawley, Boston Edward Brawley, Caroline Meynier Paulhus, and Elizabeth Camille Paulhus; sister, Doris T. Hunn; sister-in-law, Hazel W. Trammell; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Wallace Trammell and David Trammell. She worked as a bookkeeper and was co-owner of Meynier's Appliance Service on Maple Street in New Orleans alongside her late husband. She loved reading, caring for stray animals, and taking day trips with her grandchildren. She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd (in Metairie Cemetery) on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 12:00 pm with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spay Mart P.O. Box 6493 Metairie, LA 70009-6493 or at spaymart.org.
