Glenda R. Prechac passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born in Amite, LA and resided in New Orleans, LA for most of her life. She was the daughter of Glenn R. Rumbaugh and Vivian "Bea" Rumbaugh. She is survived by her children Glenn A. Prechac and Kimberly P. Ely (Rick), as well as her grandchildren Jordan and Lauren Prechac, and Gracie and Liam Ely. She was retired from Charity Hospital of New Orleans after 35 years serving various roles including Assistant Director of Quality Assurance, Risk Management Coordinator and Instructor for Staff Development. She was also a long-time member and past President of both the Louisiana Federation of Business & Professional Women's Club (BPW) and its local New Orleans chapter. In 1979, she was named "Woman of the Year" by the New Orleans chapter, and in 1980 was named "Woman of the Year" for the State of Louisiana. She was also named national chairman of the Young Careerist Committee of the National Federation of B&PW Clubs. She was also instrumental in the development of youth soccer in greater New Orleans. She was Co-Founder and a board member of Willowdale Soccer Association which later became Lafreniere Soccer Association, known today as Louisiana Fire Soccer Club serving on the board since its inception. Her experience and wisdom helped mold and shape the structure of soccer in our community. She was a soccer referee instructor for over 25 years and realized the importance of referees giving of her time endlessly to help bring the next generation of officials into the game. She was a great supporter of her grandchildren's academic and athletic activities. She also had a strong passion for animals throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by Mau & Lucy.

A Mass and memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 18 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Metairie, LA.
