

Guillermina Ferrari Gonzalez passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the age of 95. She was born February 8, 1925, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras to the late Alfonso Ferrari and Rosa Orellana Ferrari. Guillermina graduated from college with a Bachelor’s in Education. She retired after a long tenured career as a Principal in El Salvador. In 1980, she and her family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana.
Guillermina is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 24 years, Carlos Alberto Gonzales Courtade; her son Carlos Alberto Guillermo Gonzalez; her daughters Suyapa Rosa Emilia Gonzalez Dermody, Reina Maria Auxiliadora Gonzalez Vasquez and Sandra Elizabeth Gonzalez Silhy; her sisters Trinidad Ferrari Balmaceda, Maria Cristina Ferrari Rovelo, Rosa Clotilde Ferrari Blancaneaux, Dolores Ferrari Fajardo, Guadalupe Ferrari Solis; her brothers Alfonso Ferrari and Francisco Ferrari; and her granddaughter, Eugenia Maria Vasquez Aponte.
She is survived by her daughters, Ivette Guillermina Gonzalez Dowhower and husband Ronald, and Ana Lizzette Gonzalez Green and husband David; sons, Carlos Ramon Gonzalez Ferrari and wife Maria, and Mario Alfonso Gonzalez Ferrari; her sister, Jessica Camila Ferrari Feusier and husband Mario; her grandchildren, Karla Suyapa Dermody, Efrain Alfonso Vasquez, Monica Ivette Dowhower Dischinger, Ronald Michael Dowhower, Lucas Stelios Gonzalez, Jennifer Elizabeth Silhy, Jorge Ernesto Silhy, Juan Carlos Silhy, Emilia Elizabeth Gonzalez, Carla Maria Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Sean David Green and Stephen Loyd Green; her great-grandchildren Jose Jorge Vasquez, Walter Guevara, Manuel Aponte, Hazel Rose Dowhower, Charles Duncan Dowhower, Willamena Violet Dowhower, Daniela Maria Silhy, Elias Chinchilla Silhy, Sofia Alexandra Silhy Zepeda, Roberto Alejandro Silhy Zepeda, Marcos Alejandro Silhy Peraza and Pablo Silhy Peraza; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Guillermina enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. Our family gatherings will not be the same, but the love she had for us all will be fondly remembered.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 105 Bonnabel Boulevard in Metairie. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum at Metairie Cemetery.
