Mr. Harold Mitchell Spinner, Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Mandeville, Louisiana. Born on May 25, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Harold lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by family and friends who cherished him deeply.
Harold was the beloved son of the late Dorothy McGuire Spinner and Harold M. Spinner, Sr. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Gilda Miller Spinner, with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a loving family that became the cornerstone of Harold's life.
He is survived by his son, Harold M. Spinner III (Kristi), and his daughter, Stephany S. Meyers (Jason). Harold was a proud grandfather to Samantha Dugas and Dominick J. Meyers and a doting great-grandfather to Sawyer Dugas and Brody Dugas. His family brought him immense joy and fulfillment throughout his life.
Harold had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did.
He enjoyed playing softball twice weekly with his dear Good Friends family, where camaraderie and competition brought him great happiness. An avid fisherman, he found peace on the water and relished the simple pleasures of casting a line. A lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints, Harold could often be found cheering enthusiastically for his favorite team.
In his later years, Harold treasured spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He delighted in surprising them with thoughtful gifts just to see the joy on their faces-a testament to his generous spirit and deep love for his family. His quick laughter, easy smile, and gentle humor will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Harold's legacy as a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his life. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
The family will forever cherish the moments they shared with him—whether it was enjoying one of his favorite pastimes or hearing him ask with a twinkle in his eye if someone could grab him a sandwich or beer while they were up.
May Mr. Harold Mitchell Spinner Jr.'s soul rest in eternal peace as he is reunited with those who went before him.
