Isabella DiRosa Barback a faithful servant of the Lord, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the age of 97. Born to the late Frank DiRosa and Isabelle Bonnecarrere DiRosa on June 1, 1923. Beloved wife of the late Lester Lawrence Barback. Mother of Isabel Wingerter (Donald), Susan Finney (William), Lester M. Barback (Carol), David J. Barback (Lisa) and Joan Hailey (Robert).
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, her sister Anna Maria D. Mariano, a host of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Joseph DiRosa, Frank DiRosa, and Louis DiRosa, daughter Leslie Carroll and son-in-law Kenneth Carroll, and grandchildren Michael Barback and Molly Barback Mayeux.
She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Harahan for the past 15 years. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Dominican High School and a member of the St. Rita Altar Society, The Silver Trotters, and the River Ridge Garden Club. Isabella was well loved by her family and friends. A private funeral mass will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers masses or donations to the St. Rita Altar Society are preferred.
