James Alan Maddox

James Alan Maddox passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at age 63. Beloved husband of Kathleen “Kerry” Bohn Maddox. Son of Anne Kent Smith Maddox and the late James David Maddox. Loving father of Jennifer Maddox LaMonte, Christine Maddox Hebert and Donald Daniel Entringer.

Father in law of Kenneth LaMonte (Jennifer), Robert Hebert (Christine), and April Koehler (Donald). Brother of Edward Kent Maddox and Carol Maddox Hill. Grandfather of Elysse Entringer, Peyton Entringer, Abbygayle Hebert, Drew Hebert, Issac Hebert, Brandon LaMonte and Bradley LaMonte. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Alan was born in New Orleans, graduated from New Orleans Academy in 1968 and the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1972, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was a member of Caliphs of Cairo. Alan was a member and president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE). He enjoyed marching with the Celtic Highlanders in St. Patrick’s Day parades. But what brought him the most joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Alan’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (262 Danny Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or Animal Rescue of New Orleans (ARNO, 1219 Coliseum St., New Orleans, LA 70130).
