A native of New Orleans, Jamie worked as nurse, nursing instructor, and a hospital technology and systems consultant.
Jamie loved life and all things fun. She was classified as many titles: Mom, Wife, Friend, World Traveler, Disney World expert, and her favorite title, Jammie, the name she chose as a grandmother.
Jamie lived her last years to the fullest and showed everyone around her how to live and enjoy a full life. She loved volunteering her time to animal shelters, Red Cross, and fostering puppies. Even though her time was cut short she experienced what most people could only hope and dream to experience in a full lifetime.
She is survived by her husband Chris, son Shawn, daughter Gabriella, parents Penelope and Jim McCoin, brother Jim McCoin, Jr., and 3 grandchildren. Jamie will also be forever remembered by numerous extended family and dear friends.
A Visitation will be held Friday, June 29th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Lake Lawn Funeral Home in Metairie, La. The Funeral will take place Saturday, June 30th from 11:00am-12:30pm. A short Visitation from 10:00am-11:00am will take place before the Funeral on Saturday, June 30th. All events will be at Lake Lawn Funeral Home in Metairie, La.
