

Jerald “Jerry” Julius Neumeyer, age 81 of Metairie passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. He was born on December 21, 1940 in New Orleans, LA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Jean Theriot Neumeyer, and their three daughters. Denise Neumeyer Manale (Steve), Michele Neumeyer, and Jody Neumeyer Guillory (Mickey) and his grandchildren, Cody Todd, Chelsea Todd, Jarrod Guillory (Heidi) and Collin Guillory and great grandchildren Brynlee Guillory and Emma Guillory. Jerry also has step grandchildren Connor Manale (Tori) and Mason Manale. He is also survived by his brother Julius Peter Neumeyer (Sharon) and their children Chris Neumeyer (Tonya) and Missy Neumeyer. He also leaves behind numerous cousins. Jerald is preceded in death by his parents Julius G. Neumeyer and Marie Liviccari Neumeyer.
Jerry graduated from Fortier High School and Tulane University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1962. He also attended Loyola University for Business.
He was employed at Monsanto Chemical Company and received many awards. One award was for the Kellogg Syngas Machine Fire in July 1967. After Monsanto, Jerry was employed by IBM after starting his own business in 1981 called IMC (Information Management Consultants).
Jerry was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome parish where he was elected President of the Men’s Club. He was also a member of Profit 12 Stock Club and enjoyed his Puccino’s Coffee Group.
Jerry retired in 2012 to enjoy spending time with his family. He had a great passion for music and movies.
He also enjoyed cooking but feeding people even more. He also had a huge love for nature, which he got to enjoy from the beautiful mountains of Jasper, GA.
He had an extraordinarily rich, dry sense of humor. His presence was uniquely contagious. Jerry will be dearly missed by all the lives he touched.
The family would like to give a huge thank you to the staff of East Jefferson General Hospital that cared for him over the years and Heart of Hospice.
Visitation is on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. follow by a private burial.
