Jesse John Hardeman, Jr.

Jesse J. Hardeman, Jr. passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014, age 78 years. Beloved husband for 60 years of Ellen Viola Hardeman. Father of Hollie Hardeman Carter and the late Jayne Hardeman Stephens; he is survived by his son-in-law Garry Stephens. Grandfather of Nicholas Carter, Luke Carter, Emma Stephens, Tara Stephens. He is survived by his loving Maltese, “Lucy”. Brother of the late Patricia Hardeman Haley and Catalina Hardeman Sonnier. Son of the late Jesse R. Hardeman and Eula Bellanger Schneider. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a multitude of cousins, including Jake and Diane Grillot, Krystal Simoneaux, and Bessie Grillot, and “adopted son” Wayne Daigrepont.

“Mr. Jesse,” as he was known by many friends and family, was an award winning artist at Lockheed Martin where he illustrated components of the space shuttle. After his retirement, he joined the inaugural staff at the Wellness Center of East Jefferson General Hospital where he worked for thirteen years in Guest Services. He was much loved by all who knew him, and will be remembered for his charisma, sense of humor, and willingness to help others.

The family wishes to thank his physicians and the staff at East Jefferson General Hospital and Wellness Center, and close friends for their support.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM. Private interment will be held at a later date.
