John Anthony Turcich Jr.

John Anthony Turcich, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at age 93. He is now rejoined after 14 years with his beautiful wife the late Marguerite Marie “Maggie” Williams Turcich who they shared 60 years of marriage. He was a native of New Orleans and lived in Metairie until 2008 where he then resided at the La. Southeast War Veterans Home in Reserve, La. Son of the late John Anthony Turcich, Sr. and Magdalene Ruegger Turcich. Loving father of Diane Turcich Pelloat (Pappy), Marguerite Turcich Stein (Ray) and Johnnie Turcich LeBlanc (Jay).

Brother of Evelyn Ulmo and the late Charles Joseph Turcich and Joe Blanco, Sr. Grandfather of Jenny Pelloat Kinler, Molly Pelloat Thibodeaux, Marguerite Mortillaro King, Denise Bouey Windom, Allene Bouey LeBlanc, Nancy Bouey Shepard, John Bouey, Lance Bouey and Wendy Bouey. Also survived by 18 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Turcich was a 1938 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. Mr. Turcich was a WWII Merchant Marine as a ship carpenter. He remodeled homes and excavation and later owned his own pile driving company named Johnny Turcich, Jr. and later renamed it Dimarjon Corporation after his three daughters whom he loved so much. He was a member of Homebuilders Association. He was a 33rd Degree Mason with the Jerusalem Shriners. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed bowling. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff, nurses and nurse aids at the La. Southeast War Veterans Home for taking great loving care of their Daddy. Also a special thanks to his thoughtful friends at the Nursing Home.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until service time.
