June was a true “foodie” – he loved to eat savory cuisines and dessert and appreciated a well-cooked meal. Before losing his vision, he liked to watch wrestling, boxing, and karate matches.
He is survived by his mother, Rosa Browder Curtis; sisters, Phyllis Adams, Jacqueline “Jackie” Phillips, Sharita Curtis, Shantell Curtis, and Kenya Curtis Lockhart; brothers, Malcolm, Sean, and Kendrick Curtis; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lee Curtis, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, May 16, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10 AM with a chapel ceremony to follow at 11 AM. Johnny will be laid to rest in All Saints Mausoleum immediately following the service.
