Dr. Joseph A. Failla

Dr. Joseph A. Failla passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the age of 93. He was the loving husband of the late Alberta Mae Hebert Failla for 58 years and also the loving father of their 11 children: Sharon Chauffe (Philip), Beryl Haslauer (John), Joel Marie Failla, Joseph Failla II (Ann), Anthony Failla, Carla Waite (Mike), Stephanie Knight (Tommy), David Failla (Cindy), Eileen Pigno (Mark), Andrew Failla (Brenda) and Christopher Failla (Mary). He was a proud grandfather of 34 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Salvatrice Failla and siblings.

Dr. Failla was a Captain in the Dental Corps of the U.S. Army in WWII. He served on the Board of Directors for Loyola University Alumni Association and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Dr. Failla practiced dentistry from 1945 until his retirement in 2003. He had an accomplished private practice in New Orleans for over 50 years, where he was highly-regarded by his many loyal patients. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00PM. Visitation will begin at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 12:30PM until 1:30PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers Masses preferred.
