She retired as a controller of Arnaud’s for 37 years. Prior to that, she was an accountant for Royal Sonesta and Royal Orleans Hotels. Joyce enjoyed cooking, gardening, and playing slot machines.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Philip Barnes; parents, Robert J. Murray and Antonia Lascola Murray; daughter, Kim Barnes; sister, Bernice Madona; and brother, Robert Murray, Jr.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Karen Terry (Dennis); granddaughter, Megan Terry; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice House in Slidell.
The services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum, which is within Metairie Cemetery.
