Joyce Baehr Bodet

Joyce Baehr Bodet, age 87, beloved wife of 62 years to Jean P. (Jay) Bodet and devoted mother of Suzanne Bodet Kropog (Jim), Jean (Jay) Bodet, Jr. (Lynn), René P. Bodet (Amy), and Andrée Bodet Caillet (Frank), passed away peacefully on January 28, 2016. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Kelly (Paul), Ryan (Jennifer), Tres, Katy, Gabrielle, Amelia, Joshua, Celeste, Camille, and Blake. She is also survived by her younger sister, Judy Baehr Powers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Baehr, her in-laws, C. Adrien and Cecilia Bodet, and her twin sister, Joan Baehr Weaver. Joyce was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Newcomb College where she and her twin were Tulane cheerleaders in 1946. She later worked as a secretary for NOPSI and as a receptionist for attorney Joseph Windmeyer. Joyce’s family is immensely grateful to the ICU medical staff at Ochsner Hospital along with Passages Hospice for their diligence and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Metairie Rd. from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Metairie Cemetery.
