Joyce Blotner Fertel, 92, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022. She is survived by her brother J. Joseph (Elene) Blotner, her children: Barbara (Robert) Stern, Dr. Dan (Marcy) Fertel and Dr. Alan (Jennifer) Fertel, grandchildren: Lindsey (Sam) Rothenberg, Dr. Allison (Aaron) Ruff, Rachel Fertel, Dr. Simone Fertel, Mark Fertel, Jessica Harris, Carey (Dr. David) Simmons and her great grandchildren: Asher, Ezra and Miles Rothenberg, Lucy, Charlie and Simon Ruff, and Noah and Lucas Simmons. Nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Sydney Fertel, and her parents Hilda and Louis Blotner. Joyce and Sydney were the proprietors of City Furniture on Magazine Street, New Orleans and she was an avid bridge player at the Louisiana Bridge association of Metairie. Graveside services will take place at the New Beth Israel Cemetery, Elysian Fields on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
