

June Petit DeJong passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born in New Orleans on October 18, 1931. She was a graduate of John McDonough High School Class of 1948. She married and started a family. She eventually began working as a bank officer for many years and then she became a legal secretary for Cronvich, Wambsgans, and Michalczyk. She was a member of Young Elders at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church and served as Eucharistic minister for the homebound in St. Francis Xavier Parish. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, and reading. She loved her family and friends, always willing to do anything for those she loved. She was a woman of great faith, which helped her through the deaths of her children and grandson. She knew that one day she would see them again in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Robert H. DeJong, Sr.; sons, Bryan A. Eiserloh and Keith J. Eiserloh (Sue); daughter, Dionne Eiserloh Estrade (Wayne); grandson, Wayne Estrade, Jr.; and parents, Barbara Cuccia Petit Martin and Louis Petit, Sr.
June is survived by her son, Mark Eiserloh; grandchildren, Troy Pridemore, Tommy Eiserloh; and brothers, David (Felicia) and Louis Petit (Martha).
The family would like to give special thanks to Steve D’Antoni and the loving caregivers at Academy House on Harvard.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11 AM. Visitation will begin at 9 AM. After the chapel service, June will be laid to rest with her husband in Lake Lawn Park.
